What is famous in Kanuma? |
"The Kanuma Autumn Festival" is one of "Yama, Hoko, Yatai, float festivals in Japan", UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage and continues the tradition and style of the Edo period.Kanuma's Yatai are said to have been created by Nikko's sculptors and are called "sculpture stalls", "Chokoku–Yatai".
Though this year (2019, Reiwa Year) marks the 70th anniversary of the enforcement of Kanuma–shi, Autumn Festival scheduled on October 12, 13 was canceled due to the typhoon.
