Celab was fromed in 1971 as a sbusidiary of an American milatry power specialist to introduce into Europe the then new switching power conversion technology. From 1976 to 1990 Celab was owened by ABB CEAG of Dortmund, one of the world's lagerst power supply companies. In 1990 the shares of Celab was purchased from CEAG by the senior management team and in May 2004, Celab was acquired by C & D Technologies, an American Technology company with a turnover in excess of 200 million dollars. From military design princples learnt from former parent companies and further enhanced over the fourteen years of private ownership, Celab has a design and manufacturing capability to cater for wide ranging power supply and system projects. Although primarily a supplier of power supplies to military markets, Celab successfully competes in niche industrial markets both in the United Kingdom and mainland Europe. With extensive experience in the building of complex electro–mechanical assemblies, Celab also offers a Contract Electronic Manufacturing (CEM) service to defence customers. The company is ISO9001:2000 approved with continuous improvement driven by, 'Lean Manufacturing' principles. |
