A history of innovation in packaging and miniaturisation. | What is now accepted as the standard for low power DC–DC converters in a SIP, DIP and then SMD started at MPS' Milton Keynes facility in 1985, when the world's first Isolated DC–DC converter module was launched to the market. This was followed in 1991 with the world's first SMD version. Embedded magnetics | Isolated DC–DC modules are designed to save space, provide agency approvals and to prevent customers from having to design and test their own power conversion circuits. After many years of setting the standards with wire wound transformer based DC–DC converters, MPS Milton Keynes developed the world's first DC–DC converter with an embedded toroid, offering customers a highly automated and reliable device while achieving levels of isolation not possible with a wire wound product. IATF16949 Automotive approved design and manufacturing | Following the trend to EV/HEV, MPS Milton Keynes is one of only a few DC–DC converter manufacturers to be approved to the new IATF16949 standards.
